In-floor Radiant Heating

Pamper your toes year-round with in-floor heating. Radiant heat systems apply heat directly to the floor which radiates out into the living space, unlike forced air heating from furnaces which heats up air to distribute throughout the home.

There are many benefits of radiant floor heating:

Comfort - Radiant floor heat concentrates the heat near the floor to warm your family where you live versus the air above you.

Efficiency - Radiant floor heating efficiently delivers heat allowing for a lower temperature setting and provides a 20–40% energy savings over forced air systems.

Air Quality - Experience a reduction in dust particles as the system does not rely on circulating air.

Noise - Radiant floor heating is virtually silent.

Space & Energy Efficiency - Radiant heating systems are built under the floor.

Low Maintenance - There are fewer moving parts that can break down.

There are two main types of radiant heat systems: hydronic and electrical. A hydronic heating system circulates water heated by a boiler throughout the house via a system of tubing, while an electric system uses electric cables to generate heat. Electric radiant floor heating can use mats or cables and is popular in master bathrooms to warm up cold tile floors. Electrical radiant floor heating can typically be installed with your existing electrical system and requires little to no ongoing maintenance. Hydronic heating uses water or another liquid such as glycol in a heated loop and a zone control system to provide different areas with desired heating. The pipes are laid underneath your flooring which safely circulates hot water from a boiler throughout a specified area. Once water begins to cool, it returns to the boiler where it’s reheated and sent back out to warm your space. Hydronic systems use a closed loop which means water or glycol is reused over and over again. Most hydronic systems are covered under a 25-year warranty and typically last at least 50 years with regular use.
